The HSI Platform currently offers two different methods for users to be logged into the system:   standard, via login page; and Single Sign-On via SAML, both described here. STANDARDThe standard login/authentication method allows users to use a unique User ID and Password to log in to a company specific URL.   Members and Administrators log in to the same portal page.   Customers may choose to utilize the Member Launch email notification to distribute the system login credentials to their workforce. The login page offers Forgot Login ID and Reset Password functions for users with an email on file, and Set System Language functionality, along with the ability to contact Customer Support. SINGLE SIGN-ONThe other option is Single Sign-On (SSO) into the platform via SAML version 2. 0.   This option allows your workforce to log into your company network for authentication and then be passed over to the HSI Platform without having to log in a second time.  In the case of SSO, users will not receive login credentials for the HSI Platform, as they are not needed to log in.   The training launch notification may be sent by the customer Administrator, or the system (scheduled launch email without the user login credentials).  SSO REQUIREMENTSThe HSI Platform requires a SAML v2. 0 compliant Identity Provider (IdP) application for single sign-on integration.   Only Service-Provider initiated SSO requests are supported by the HSI Platform.   This identity provider must be publicly addressable across the internet for the SSO exchange to work correctly. HSI does not recommend specific IdPs, but has successfully integrated with Microsoft Standard IdPs, including ADFS and Azure AD and services from other major providers. SSO CONFIGURATIONYour SAML team will need to import HSI Platform SP metadata into your IdP.   The HSI Platform will also need to be registered as an SP in your IdP.   Link to HSI metadata: https: //saml. osmanager4. com/saml/v2MetaData. This step must be completed before implementation of SAML may begin. SSO Information ExchangeWhen configuring your SSO Information Exchange, you will need to communicate the following to the HSI Platform: Your IdP metadata (this should be an XML file)The attribute field which contains your desired Federation ID(By default, we use NameID, which is typically an email address)Do you want to support password login on the login screen in addition to SAML login?This will allow end-users to manually login to the HSI Platform using a username and password if your IdP is unavailable.
